Nominations for President, Vice-President, Secretary* and Treasurer should be submitted by May 26.The only requirement is that all those making the nominations as well as the nominees should be current members of the organization.Just send a note giving your name, the nominee’s name and the office desired.Then please sign the note and mail to either

*Our constitution allows for both a recording and corresponding secretary, though we have been operating with just one secretary these past few years.
A NOTE TO FORMER MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS:
It has been brought to our notice that some Scranton retirees are curious as to why they do not receive our mailings.The answer to their concerns revolves around money and time.The retiree chapter is a small organization.During August of each year, we contact new retirees inviting them to join us. Happily, several do just that.
Also in August, we send out letters to our current members inviting them to renew their membership.Again happily, the majority do.Those who do not respond are assumed to be uninterested or unavailable.Processing regular mailings to all eligible retirees would be extremely costly and time consuming.We do not have the resources of the larger chapters, Philadelphia or Pittsburgh, who have paid office staff available to them for such duties.
This does not mean, however, that we would not be happy to have you join us.There is always a membership form available online at sft1147.org.If you are interested, please print it out and send it in.You will then be added to our mailing list.
