Dear Colleagues:
Please make every effort to attend the public meeting the SSD is having to discuss the closing of Audubon Elementary School. The meeting will be held at Scranton High School at 7:00 PM on February 7, 2012. All members are asked to be there to support our elementary teachers and their students.
A contract negotiation session has been scheduled for February 13, 2012. The state mediator, Mr. Yanchulis, has requested the SSD provide a proposal to the SFT in advance of that meetin g. As always, the SFT is willing to negotiate non-stop to achieve fair and equitable collective bargaining agreements for the professional and paraprofessional members of our union.
On January 30, 2012, a hearing will be conducted in Harrisburg, PA on two unfair labor charges filed against the SSD by the SFT.
On February, 6, 2012, the Scranton School Board Labor Committee will conduct a grievance hearing for four outstanding grievances filed by the SFT.
On February 9, 2012, another unfair labor chage filed by the SFT will be heard in Scranton.
