Here is a list of workshops Prudential Financial is hosting in March, April, May, & June.
Retirement Workshop hosted by Jaclyn Costantino & Jim Lavelle of Prudential
with special guest speaker Stephen Daknis, VP of Territory exclusively for
the Scranton Federation of Teachers and spouses & CTC Teachers and spouses
on Thursday, March 25th 5:30 pm at the Tripp House in Scranton.

June 6th: Retirement Red Zone

The workshops regarding Financial Matters that matter most are appropriate
for all ages. The Retirement Red Zone is geared towards people considering
retirement while Long Term Care is appropriate for people considering
retirement, people who have aging parents/relatives, people concerned about
preserving their assets, or people who may have family members with special
needs.

Gymboree Play and Music has made a special offer to SSD teachers and paraprofessionals. They are offering our members three months of quality, developmentally appropriate programming for children from birth to age five for the price of two months(June-July-and August). For more information please call 570-586-5880 and mention the special.
All teachers are reminded that the required 180 hours for the current five year ACT 48 cycle must be completed and on file with PDE by June 30, 2010. Please check the PDE website under the Act 48 Certification section for your current total. Anyone in need of hours is encouraged to enroll in courses immediately. The SSD will not allow staff to teach without the required 180 hours. Be certain to carefully review any letter you receive from the PDE, as notification should be sent to members that have not met state requirements. The SSD will also receive a copy of any letter the PDE sends to our members.
